I’m sure everyone is in agreement when we say, what a year 2020 has been so far!
Destination TEFL opened our second location, Siem Reap, Cambodia at the beginning of 2020 and for those looking for a beach location, we are super excited to announce the launch of our next TEFL destination, the beautiful Indonesian island of BALI!
It’s with great pleasure that we introduce our new team member – Matt Roberts, Franchise owner of Destination TEFL Bali.
Matt has a PGCE in Primary education and a Masters’ degree in ‘Applied Education in Children’ as well as a 140 hour TEFL certificate acquired at Destination TEFL, and the Destination TEFL Trainer’s Certificate.
Matt started teaching in England before moving to Australia where he spent two years teaching in a range of schools before moving to Thailand to teach in an International school on the island of Koh Samui, merging traditional teaching curriculums with teaching English as a foreign language.
Matt prefers a hands-on interactive approach to teaching with bucket loads of energy and positivity. His experience in Primary Education can also help with some behaviour management tactics! Lots of smiles and lots of learning being commonplace in Matt’s classroom. Trainees can be assured of the same top quality 140-hour TEFL course hosted by Matt in Bali.
So why Bali?
Bali is generally known for its amazing pristine bone-white sand beaches, a postcard-perfect tropical paradise. But surprisingly Bali is also home to stunning and unusual black sand beaches, courtesy of the active volcanoes that dot the island and the Indonesian Peninsula.
Bali is a mesmerising Indonesian island which is world-famous for its beautiful places, rich culture, history, arts and crafts, gorgeous beaches, friendly locals and expats, with much more to explore – it therefore often takes top spot on many people’s bucket list.
Balinese culture is a mix of Balinese Hindu-Buddhist religion and Balinese customs. It’s perhaps most known for its dance, drama and sculpture.
No matter what floats your boat, you’ll find it in Bali: funky beach bars, coffee shops and a vibrant foodie scene, some of the best shopping for clothing and interiors in Seminyak, famous surf haunts such as Kuta and Uluwatu, tropical rainforests and volcanoes, and the artists’ paradise of Ubud, set amongst peaceful rice paddies… this is just a start of what Bali has to offer.
The training centre will be located between Seminyak and Canggu, a beautiful surfers' paradise and an amazing beach location for our students to explore. Accommodation is not included in the course fees, however, Matt is busy negotiating a few very affordable accommodation options within walking distance of the training centre.
Teaching in Bali, Indonesia
To secure a teaching position in Bali, you need to be a native English speaker (or sounding) and have a minimum Bachelor’s degree (in any field) as well as a TEFL certificate. Some schools will consider non-degreed applicants, however, these are very difficult to find and therefore we are not able to offer any placement assistance for non-degreed applicants. But if you don’t have a degree, don’t despair. You can still explore Bali as a TEFL Destination as part of our ‘2 countries, 1 program’ option. Study in Bali and teach in Cambodia (non-degreed & degreed) or study in Bali and teach in Thailand or Vietnam (Degreed applicants only).
