Five "must do" activities in Bali

Sure, Bali is on the bucket list for most travellers, and we don’t blame them; it’s truly magical and a timeless experience. But it can be somewhat overwhelming, as there are so many things to do and see with perhaps limited time. Follow these paths to some great activities in Bali, to make the most of your adventure.

Diamond Beach

Postcard-perfect, Diamond Beach could be a screensaver. Located on the tip of Nusa Penida, it’s how paradise is often imagined to be. You’ll find multiple viewpoints not too far from each other for enviable Insta pics and true memory-making moments. Only recently, it was made possible to reach this beach by stone-carved stairs. Make sure to fit in a trip to Diamond Beach during your Bali stay.

Monkey Forest

Located in the heart of Ubud Forest, you’ll find yourself immersed right into a Jungle Book movie set, with tall tropical trees and stone statues, walkways and terraces. Here, tame and mischievous Long-Tailed Balinese Macaques roam free in their jungle playground. It’s a holy site, but be sure to keep your eyes open and belongings close, as the monkeys have no scruples!

Mount Batur

This is our recommendation for early bird active travellers and sunrise junkies. It starts with a before dawn wake-up and a two-hour walk to the top, where you enjoy a warm coffee and eggs cooked via the volcanic heat. Your efforts are rewarded by the breathtaking sunrise as you are elevated above the clouds. We recommend packing a jacket as it gets cold at the top.

Tegalalang Rice Terraces

This valley of rice paddies is located in the North of Ubud, a very popular site during the day so plan your trip to be there early. Experience jaw-dropping views and beautiful walks amid the paddies. You’ll discover great cafés for a coffee, snack, and a view. It’s a great place to decompress, unwind and chill after the more adventurous activities.

Surfing

Bali is the ultimate surfers’ dream destination and is perfect for anyone from beginner to wave shredder. Head down to Kuta if you’re a beginner and simply look around for an instructor. If you’re a more experienced wave rider you’ll find some great spots in Uluwatu and Canggu.

As you’re reading this blog, you may be asking yourself, ‘Will we ever be able to see Bali again?’ Yes, the pandemic has brought a bucket-full of hopelessness, but our bucket of optimism is certainty outweighing that. Teaching and Travelling in Bali is possible and we make it hassle-free for you.
